Quick Ordering for String Orchestra London Improvisors |

Freedom of the City 2001, Large Groups This double cd features the two large ensembles from the 2001 festival. The first ensemble is the 13-piece string orchestra directed by Evan Parker which he originally organized back in 1998 performing two extended works. The second is the working 39-piece London Improvisers Orchestra under the direction of Steve Beresford and Knut Aufermann. Typically, we think of improvising as a small group activity, but in the hands of these groups, one realizes that the constructs work equally well in large groups with an effect that can leave one numb at times with their power. Comes with our highest recommendation! Total time 135:32 minutes -- previously unissued :::>>> Tell A Friend About This CD From Drimala If you like this cd, you might also enjoy listening to: Freedom of the City 2001, Small Groups European Echoes (Manfred Schoof Orchestra) Alan Silva and the Sound Visions Orchestra Globe Unity 67 & 70 (Schlippenbach's Globe Unity Orchestra) Plus Equals (Spontaneous Music Orchestra) GO: Organic Orchestra 1 (Rudolph's large ensemble) Compositions for Creative Orchestra (George Lewis and the NOW Orchestra) Fuck de Boere (Brötzmann Group--alternative version of Machine Gun) Wowow (NOW Orchestra) Embracing the Void (Tsahar and the Zoanthropic Orchestra) Funky Donkey (Luther Thomas Human Arts Ensemble) Sunrise In the Tone World (Little Huey and the Creative Music Orchestra) Transatlantic Bridge (Vandermark's Chicago Nonet) |
