Space
   Roscoe Mitchell (reeds)
Gerald Oshita (straight alto, tenor and baritone saxophones, contrabass sarrusaphone, conn-o-sax)
  Thomas Buckner (voice)

This specially priced 2-cd set features two records originally released on 1750 Arch Records in the early 1980s by the trio SPACE.   Founded in 1979 by Mitchell, Oshita and Buckner to explore new concepts in improvisation and composition, SPACE toured and performed extensively until Oshita's untimely death.

The music on these two cds is unbeliveably fresh.   Comes with our highest recommendation for honest listening that will take you back to a time when improvisation wasn't wrapped in labels and genres...but simply an exploration of all that each of the musicians had to bring to the session.
