Love Notes From the Madhouse The first time these two greats ever worked together, but you would never know it by the tightness of this recording. Recorded live in Chicago, the duo is backed by Fred Hopkins on bass, Margriet Naber-Tchicai on keyboards, Jeff Parker on guitar, Benita Haastrup on drums, and Aaron Getsug on sax. There was a time when poetry-jazz collaborations were commonplace and highly desired, sought out events. One can only hope that this recording will rekindle those fires! "One of the most successful live recordings of poetry and jazz to have ever been released." -- Brilliant Corners Comes highly recommended. 12 tracks in 73:26 minutes You might also enjoy listening to: Herido (Gonzalez, Komunyakaa, Deutsch, Ibarra, Sugar Blue) Alabama (Foster, Futterman) Condor Autumn Wind (Wadada Leo Smith) The Way Out Is Via The Door (Creeley, Massey, Mills, Swallow) Zen Mountains Zen Streets (William Parker, David Budbill) |
