Four
Compositions To paraphrase the old stock brokerage commercial: "When Anthony Braxton plays, people listen." And they have been doing so for decades, through dozens of recordings spanning an evolution that is remarkable for its independence and virtuosity. Braxton's first two albums, were released on Delmark and it is only fitting that the present rare quartet version of his self-described Ghost Trance Music be released more than 30 years later on the same label. As Braxton says, "Ghost Trance Music comes in every size and shape." And, indeed it does with four of his most accessible compositions to date, that can be enjoyed on multiple levels. Comes highly recommended. 4 tracks in 69:12 minutes You might also enjoy listening to: duo (Amsterdam) (Braxton, Graewe) Solo Piano (Standards) (Braxton) Roscoe Mitchell (Mitchell and company) Art Ensemble (AACM) Compositions for Creative Orchestra (George Lewis and the NOW Orchestra) |
