1-8 in 1 The Focus Quintet Anita DeChellis (voice) Ernesto Diaz-Infante (guitar) Dan DeChellis (piano) Chris Forsyth (guitar) Jeff Arnal (drums) Dan DeChellis returns with his stronges compositional/ improvisational offering yet. With this quintet, he has found the voice necessary to fully explore and deliver on the aesthetic he has been pursuing since his first recording with Sachimay, Shapes in 1996. Residing somewhere between the artifices of contemporary classical and free improvisation, the music on 1-8 In 1 moves through this no-man's land with grace and poise...never self-conscious and always honest. Comes highly recommended. 8 tracks in 55:58 minutes More Sachimay One Final Note Review :::>>> Tell A Friend About This CD From Drimala If you like this cd, you might also enjoy listening to: Red Sauce Baby (Hans Fjellestad) Shapes (Dan DeChellis) The Dirigibles Between Similarities (DeChellis and Arnal) Tepeu (Ernesto Diaz-Infante) Pomegranate (Steuart Liebig Ensemble) Border Crossings (Dana Reason and Peter Valsamis) Pieces of Time (François Houle, Eyvind Kang, Dylan van der Schyf) Chamber Music (Dan DeChellis) Music Swims Back To Me (the music of Julia Powell) |
