Rotcod Zzaj, aka Dick Metcalf, is the (irr) reverend, or should we say, raconteur, of experimental spoken word, piano stylings, and other strange and wondrous sounds. Labeled early on in his career as playing backward jazz, his music has thankfully grown even more backward ever since. As Splendid Ezine once wrote about Rotcod Zzaj's music "Everyone should have at least one CD from the ever-expanding (like the universe???) Zzaj Productions catalog!" And we quite agree...except, why stop at one? |
Triple
Expression The first performance between Rotcod and Diaz-Infante that rocks its way through a heavy dose of experimental jazz-improv sonic soup. These three musicians are well versed in the art of free improvisation, and this recording captures them in fine form as they pluck, bang, key, strum and sample their way through three extended tracks. Worth the effort to hang with the music and experience some slightly warped jams. 3 tracks in 62:33 minutes More ZZAJ :::>>> Tell A Friend About This CD From Drimala If you like this cd, we think you might also enjoy listening to: As Good As Gnu's (The Imaginary Band) Inside (Steffen Basho Junghans) Up In Flame (Haunted House) Sirius Intrigues (Rotcod and Ernesto Diaz-Infante) Elements of Suspense (Rotcod, Diaz-Infante, and Mark Kissinger) Sonnic Nuggets (Rotcod, Jim Konen, Jim Russell, Peter Tomshany) The First Time (Ernesto Diaz-Infante, Pat Harman with W.O.O Revelator) |
