Singularity
   Joe Morris (guitar)

This is Joe Morris solo on acoustic steel string guitar. An impeccable entry into Morris' remarkable canon of work...10 exquisitely improvised songs of future now. The naked setting of these solo performances on acoustic guitar (a plugged-in Les Paul is his standard apparatus) showcases both Morris’ awe-inspiring musical intent, and unparalleled technical prowess. The sum total of Singularity ought to escape no one with proclivities toward either soul music or new forms of musical expression.

"Joe Morris effortlessly changes the face of modern guitar every time he plays, one hand touches the ancients; the other is pulling in the future, all wrapped in a blanket called now." --- William Parker

"Though swimming in outrageously honed technique, Joe Morris keeps his improvised guitar fluent, self-critical and tender. We find strange things and felicities in what he plays, just as he does. The expressive moment becomes objective: we know we're listening to something that's bigger than the both of us." --- Ben Watson, The Wire
