Schizosphere The product of gigging regularly for over a year, this trio truly redefines the trio sound. With Houle's two-clarinet improvising nods to Rahsaan and Wilson's guitar-khaen pyrotechnics, the sound is more akin to a quintet but with the space of a trio. This disc comes highly recommended. "Houle is one of the most significant new composers, band leaders, and clarinetists to emerge lately anywhere" -- Kevin Whitehead "A radical questioning of all things musical, all things "trio" and most things sonic." -- Andrew Bartlett 10 tracks in 67:36 minutes If you missed this cd, you might enjoy listening to: Live @ Banlieues Bleues (Léandre, Houle, Graewe) Lowest Note (Tony Wilson Sextet) Yesca One (Schoenbeck and Baker) Almost Never (Goldberg, Schott, Dunn) Other Songs (Graewe, Bergen, Phillips) |
