Rotcod Zzaj, aka Dick Metcalf, is the (irr) reverend, or should we say, raconteur, of experimental spoken word, piano stylings, and other strange and wondrous sounds. Labeled early on in his career as playing backward jazz, his music has thankfully grown even more backward ever since. As Splendid Ezine once wrote about Rotcod Zzaj's music "Everyone should have at least one CD from the ever-expanding (like the universe???) Zzaj Productions catalog!" And we quite agree...except, why stop at one? |
Resurrection - Reservations Only A series of tapes called the "Mad Metcalf Ensemble" from live performances in the early 1980s has been remastered in the Zzaj Motown Studio. Captured LIVE in the "Gnu Deli", in Olympia, Washington, the cd features players like John Alkins, Harlan Mark Vale, Rotcod Zzaj and a whole host of other artistic folks. The pieces on this recording focus on the (very) earliest spontaneous spoken-word performances done by Rotcod Zzaj, with a host of musicians supporting it. VERY experimental, VERY "out there", and VERY much FUN! 11 tracks in 71:33 minutes More ZZAJ :::>>> Tell A Friend About This CD From Drimala If you like this cd, we think you might also enjoy listening to: Alabama (Joel Futterman and Greg Foster) Sirius Intrigues (Rotcod and Ernesto Diaz-Infante) Elements of Suspense (Rotcod, Diaz-Infante, and Mark Kissinger) Theory of Reversed Effort (W.O.O Revelator) |
