Mind Zyrah's Orange The first full length release from one of Boston's hottest new hard driving avant rock groups. Kick back and take a break from any seriousness and turn up the speakers. The influences run deep and wide here, without being ponderous. How can anyone take a band serious that lists inspiration and influences that range from John Coltrane to Chick Corea to Husker Du and Peter Gabriel and Iron Maiden, and seemingly all manner of cacophony in between. Well take them serious, it all works. "This is funked-up patchouli rock with no lack of guitar solos. Expansive vocal harmonies add to the mellow grooviness, man. File somewhere between The Grateful Dead and Santana. Sounds Like: Jane's Addiction, Spin Doctors, Phish, Blind Melon" - listen.com "This band has a sixties groove that takes in elements from a vast variety of musical styles. The lyrics flow together with pulsing rhythms reminiscent of early Pink Floyd.." - ncsweb.com If you like this cd, we think you might also enjoy: Revolver 11 (The Lowdown) Soul Motive (World of Tomorrow) All Time Present (Good Vibrations/No Expectations) |
