Waves From Albert
Ayler Gilbert Holmstrm (saxophone) Conny Sjkvist (drums) Kjell Jansson (bass) Swedish free jazz from the Mount Everest Trio, a little-known ensemble built for speed and handcrafted for action. Saxophonist Gilbert Holmstrm, who had been a fixture on the Swedish scene since the early 1960s, formed Mount Everest Trio in the 1970s, with fiery drummer Conny Sjkvist and outstanding bassist Kjell Jansson. They waxed this unknown monster LP in 1975 for the tiny collective Levande Improviserad Musik label, covering tunes by Ayler, Ornette Coleman, and Gary Bartz, as well as original compositions and free pieces. Packaged with the original cover and notes, as well as new liner text, this reissue will augment the initial LP with almost an entire record's worth of never-before released studio material recorded the following year - equally hot, even more rare! :::>>> Tell A Friend About This CD From Drimala If you like this cd, we think you might also enjoy listening to: Elixir (Hal Russell's Chemical Feast) Interstellar Space Revisited (Gregg Bendian and Alex Cline) Unlawful Noise (Haazz & Company) Southern Extreme (Futterman, Jordan, Fielder) Nipples (Brotzmann Sextet) |
