Raphe Malik just keeps getting stronger.  This project finds him in the company of his long time drummer, "Cody" Moffett, joined by bassist extraordinare, Cecil McBee.   Much of the interest on this cd has to do with the history each member of this trio brings to the fray.  The music moves effortlessly across the last 30-year history of jazz, pushing from hard driving post-bop right through to today's more abstract sound, but always rooted in the blues and continually evolving.  A seriously excellent project, proving that Raphe is one of the leading trumpet players of today.
