Stelen
   Johannes Bauer (trombone)
Luc Houtkamp (alto and tenor saxophones)
   Dieter Manderscheid (bass)
   Martin Blume (drums)

From the group’s name, Four in One, we immediately understand the aesthetic at work here.  Stelen is a wonderful example of how four veteran free jazz performers can mold their listening in the moment to create a coherent unified force.  Comes highly recommended.

“The exquisite music found on this CD symbolizes the tension between freedom and order, appealing to the listener to discard predetermined notions and immerse himself (or herself) in a world of splendors.” – Steven Loewy
