Sound
Dissolving Sound Ravish Momin (percussion) Percussionist/composer Ravish Momin makes a solo excursion following the footsteps of percussionists such as Nana Vasconcelos, Andrew Cyrille and Gerry Hemingway, to offer us a global sound village, picking up rhythms and instruments from Indonesia, Brazil, Nigeria, India, American and Japan. The eight compositions draw on those various traditions in a unique blend that highlights the musical similarities between those disparate traditions, while also exploring the territory where indigenous percussion meets jazz, extended technique and new forms. Guest appearance by Jim Dispirito from Rusted Root. 8 tracks in 32:31 minutes :::>>> Tell A Friend About This CD From Drimala If you like this cd, you might also enjoy listening to: Etant Donnes (Ensemble Duchamp) Nerve Beats (Han Bennink) Preface To God (Spirit) From There to Hear (Jerome Cooper) Schlingerland (Sven-Åke Johansson) Laughing Owl (Bennink and Terry Ex) Ask the Sun (Zerang and Drake) |
