Serenity Joseph Benzola Serenity carries on the Eastern-tinged, often cinematic ambience of Reflections but the sound here seems simultaneously broader and more distant. It is a combination of many of the world's great musical traditions combining the timbres of acoustic and electronic instruments plus the use of found vocals. There is a broad base of percussion here -- and like all Amanita releases, percussion is instrumentation, NOT rhythm -- with reverberation very much a part of the mix. Do not confuse this with the "serenity" of new age music. There must first be a spiritual upheaval before there is true serenity. Nine tracks in 54+ minutes.
