Montreal-based alto saxophonist Cauley has slowly been acquiring a reputation in the avant-garde/improvising community for both his identifiable sound and singular response. FINland is his debut project as a leader. Composed and improvised texts of great beauty and detail.

"Ferocious and amusing, a reminder that people who go out convincingly are those with a strong sense of the communicative thrust of 'inside' playing." -- Hi-Fi News/ Record Review

"Strong but measured musical statements that overwhelm with sensitivity, balance and detail." -- Orelo

"Sophisticated free Mingusness." -- The Wire
