"We need to listen with all our senses, not just sight and hearing.  Perelman plays so hard that his solos seem to hit you with physical force.  His tone takes on different textures that you can feel: sometimes a dandpapery roughness, at others an olive oil slipperiness, or it can grow hard and hot with a metallic luster.  Through Perelman's synesthetic magic, you can even taste bitter experience and the sweetness of transcendence." -- Ed Hazell from the liner notes
