Boundless A fine sequence of duos reflecting the moods of two exceptional improvisers on a Winter's day. The first time they have appeared as a duo on a record since 1978, revealing their playing to be more adverturous than ever. Exceptionally well recorded and a pure joy. Comes with our highest recommendation! "This is an unassuming recording which gradually gets a hold of you. If it makes any sense to talk about emotions, you could say that the playing moves between meloncholy and exasperation, with lyrical interludes. That should be enough for anyone." -- Art Lange "Great stuff and further reminder of Coxhill's improvisational skills." -- John Corbett 15 tracks in 70:15 minutes If you missed this cd, you might also enjoy listening to: 6 Dialogues (Watts and Weston) Brass City (McPhee & Bishop) Spectral Soprano (Coxhill) Specific Gravity (McPhee & Giardullo) Light's View (Butcher and Gräwe) Unity Variations (Parker and Gräwe) Souls and Masters (Liebman and Gerber) Requests and Antisongs (Butcher and Durrant) Music On Seven Occassions (John Butcher duets) Outcome (Steve Lacy and Derek Bailey) Shooters and Bowlers (Butcher and Heminway) |
