Silkheart Records This legendary catalogue, started in 1985, has for too long been generally unobtainable...till now! Silkheart's original mission was to spotlight musicians, who in the mid-1980s were underdocumented, and debut other musicians that were worthy of documentation. The result: "comeback" recordings for Charles Brackeen, Ahmed Abdulla, and David S. Ware....'debut" recordings by folks like Charles Gayle, Matthew Shipp, Rob Brown, Booker T. Williams, Daniel Carter, Jim Hobbs and Dennis Charles. And somewhere in between were significant releases by Ernest Dawkins' New Horizons Ensemble, the Ethnic Heritage Ensemble, Charles Tyler, Mike Bisio, Joel Futterman, Kidd Jordan, and many many more. We have extremely limited (meaning less than 3 or 4 copies, in some cases) numbers of everything that currently exists in this catalogue. We have been told that Silkheart is going to begin a repressing campaign, but it may take time. Since quantities are so limited, we won't be building our usual individual pages for each of these recordings, but we strongly recommend going to the Silkheart website for detailed information on each recording. To order any of these excellent CDs, just click in the check box in front of the title, or titles, and then click on the "Add to Your Shopping Cart" button at the bottom of the page and follow the simple directions.
